The 26th edition of the Virginia Legal Elite – John McCormick Named to Virginia’s 2025 Legal Elite in Business Law

Norfolk, Virginia — December 4, 2025 — McCormick Law & Consulting is pleased to announce that its founder, John McCormick, has been named to the 2025 Legal Elite in the category of Business Law.

The Legal Elite program recognizes top attorneys across Virginia in 22 practice areas and is jointly produced by Virginia Business and Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Launched in 2000 in cooperation with the Virginia Bar Association, the Legal Elite distinction highlights attorneys who demonstrate exceptional legal expertise, professional integrity, and dedication to serving clients and the legal community.

Each year, attorneys licensed in Virginia are invited to cast ballots identifying the most accomplished and trusted lawyers across 21 legal specialties, along with a “Young Lawyer” category recognizing emerging leaders. This year, Virginia Business and DataJoe—a Colorado-based media research and analytics firm—contacted more than 14,000 attorneys and over 50 law firms, directing them to a secure, limited-access balloting website during the voting period.

The 2025 balloting cycle saw 902 participating attorneys, who collectively cast 17,363 individual votes across all legal categories. Out of 4,179 attorneys nominated by their peers, 1,605—representing 38.4% of all nominees—were ultimately selected for inclusion on the prestigious 2025 Legal Elite list.
