Steven Thomas is a Virginia native and a Partner at McCormick Law & Consulting. He leads the firm’s criminal and traffic defense practice through Driving Defense Law, its criminal and traffic defense division, and represents clients in civil litigation throughout Hampton Roads.

Steven takes a proactive, client-first approach to every case. He prepares each matter thoroughly, keeps clients informed, and puts their goals at the center of every decision.

Criminal and Traffic Defense

Through Driving Defense Law, Steven represents clients charged with DUI and DWI, reckless driving, and other traffic-related offenses, from infractions to misdemeanors and felonies. See our Criminal Defense practice.

  • Member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), a professional organization dedicated to the defense of people accused of DUI-related offenses
  • Trained in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Standardized Field Sobriety Testing guidelines, the same standards used to train police officers

Steven also represents businesses and individuals in civil litigation, including:

  • Business and corporate disputes, including shareholder and owner disputes
  • Breach of contract, business conspiracy, fraud, and conversion claims
  • Property disputes

  • J.D., Regent University School of Law. Recipient of the Corporate, Commercial & Transactional Law Award and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Foundation Trial Advocacy Award. President of the Business Law Society and Chairman of the Trial Advocacy Board, where he led Regent Law to a National Trial Advocacy Championship.

Steven and his wife Savannah live in the Larchmont neighborhood of Norfolk with their dog, Hank, and are active in their local church.
